6-Story treehouse reopens to visitors this summer!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

6/8/2021

(ITHACA, NY) Cayuga Nature Center’s beloved TreeTops is reopening to the public starting Tuesday, June 8, 2021. TreeTops is a 6-story treehouse on Cayuga Nature Center grounds, where visitors can get a bird’s–eye view of the forest canopy. While the Lodge will continue to remain closed, visitors are welcome to explore the miles of trails, outdoor animal exhibitions, weekly animal programs, and TreeTops.

The treehouse will be open limited hours during the week due to guidelines with our summer camp. Saturday through Monday, visitors can experience the treehouse from 10 am – 5pm. On Tuesday–Friday, our treehouse hours will be from 2 pm – 5 pm. Visitors must wear a face mask at all times while in Treetops, and are asked to only have 2 parties in the structure at all times, with a maximum of 10 people. Social distancing is also required while in the treehouse. Visitors are asked to use hand sanitizer at the base of TreeTops before and after visiting.

The Cayuga Nature Center will also be providing regular outdoor programming this summer, despite the Lodge and inside exhibitions remaining closed. Visit https://pri-gift-shop.myshopify.com/collections/cnc-public-programming to register for our Eco-Explorer programs. These programs are for elementary-aged children and their families, and run three during the month of June, and then twice a week during July and August. This program is free to the public but donations are appreciated. All funds raised will help our education department continue their work at the Cayuga Nature Center. Visitors must practice social distancing and masks are required to comply with the Nature Center’s current health policies.
